Matcha Green Tea Aids In Weight Loss

Matcha, or powdered green tea leaf extract, is one of the many high-quality ingredients in  Skinny Shake® Meal Replacement Shake and Skinny Smoothie® Vegan Meal Replacement Smoothie.  Matcha is made from whole, ground green tea leaves.  The leaves are grown in the shade to enhance the chlorophyll content giving it a bright green color.

The benefits of green tea have been the subject of studies in recent years. Here are some highlights of the benefits:

Aids Weight Loss

Research has shown that consuming green tea extracts like matcha can help boost metabolism and burn fat. [1]The polyphenols in tea catechins create thermogenic properties and promote fat oxidation. [2]

Cancer Prevention

Green tea contains antioxidants called catechins which have cancer-fighting properties lessening the effects of dangerous free radicals. [3]

Heart Health

Green tea plays a factor in preventing cardiovascular disease [4]. It is anti-inflammatory, promoting blood vessel function, and prevents plaque build up in the arteries. [5]

Lowers LDL “Bad” Cholesterol

The catechin found in green tea, EGCg, aids in lowering cholesterol levels by decreasing cholesterol absorption. [6]

Enhances Concentration, Alertness, and Memory

Possibly the most well-known benefit of Matcha is its ability to increase attention and alertness.  Matcha not only improves our concentration it also speeds up information processing and aids in memory retention  [7].  So not only will this powerful green tea leaf help you to reach your “Feel Great Weight” it will also help sharpen your mind.

Adding this powdered concentrated green tea to your diet may have a bounty of health benefits which are hailed dating back to the Zen monks.  Moderation is advisable.  The Zen monks reportedly drank concentrated matcha the way we drink champagne!
